How does it feel, to be able to watch your baby grows through the weeks and a few weeks before the due date, the doc tells u that your baby is going to die?
My patient today is at her 36 weeks of gestation when her water broke and she's bleeding like mad. She presented to the hosp and on ultrasound, the team confirmed a uterine rupture. Her baby was hypoxic ( not enough oxygen ) for 3 minutes and already shown signs of brain damages ( hypertonic limbs, hyperextended neck...)...
It was a sad news to tell a first time mother that that her baby will die soon or handicapped if delivered. it's not getting any better when u tell her that to stop the bleeding, u might have to do hysterectomy ( taking out the womb )!
i was dumbstruck n prayed hard that nothing like this or even near this, will happen to anyone i know of.......
p/s: this is a normal scan of a normal pregnancy at first trimester
