vascular surg.

Eventhough mr o'donohue is a well known scrutinizer and full of sarcasm..ahha..he was exceptionally nice to the three of us ( except that he called us polyester students for no reason at all ) . The 1st vascular surgery we saw was AAA repair. Have u ever dig into a pile of clothes trying to find a missing sock when u're very2 late? hahah...that's how the surgeons dug the abdomen.

There was a 30 cm midline incision from below the rib n ended just below the umbilicus. They just burned the fat layers ( this guy was a very buncit pakcik in his 40s ) n in abt 3 minutes they reached the bowels. then the digging process begun. i always thought when we're dealing with organs, we have to handle it with tender loving care..haha..well, that's not the case here!! sgt ganas will suit them better n i was so afraid that the bowels will burst. n when they found the sclerotic abdominal aorta, they clamped both sides n sucked the blood out before cutting it open. i've never seen how lemak dlm vessels looks like, but when i saw it..yikess, i 'll never forget it. mr donohue saw the horror in our eyes n smilingly said, ' does this look like steamed beef for dinner?'...arghhhh. i hate his gut!

that evening, i just had sayur n nasik for buka. thanks to mr o'donohue!!
